Solar Panel

I was so excited to receive the solar panel for my new home.  It was quite a surprise since I figured it would all come at once.  Little Guy told me the 40 watt should be enough to keep my battery going in the trailer.  The Panel comes from Zamp Solar.  It is a pretty nifty thing... can't wait to try it out.

It fits into this bag the size of a large briefcase.  There is a handle that is attached to the panel itself to make it easy to carry.

This is what it looks like when you open the case.

The panel opens up so you have 2 panels.  Here is the inside gadgets... I told my housemate to put her fingers in the clamps... it probably wouldn't be all that comfortable since it was a pretty tight clamp... I thought it would be interesting to see if we could get a shock from it.  haha... ok that is the inquisitive child in me.

I don't know much about solar panels but did a little research to see if it could be of use when I am out in the middle of no where.

It has these legs to prop up the panel so you can get the best sunlight throughout the day.

And this is the front when it is out of the case and opened to 2 panels.

It also came with an adapter for the battery in the trailer... I sure hope that won't take a huge installation effort when I get the trailer... but we will find out soon enough.

Here is a video on the larger version of this solar panel.  Mine is newer and the legs are much sturdier.

Here is a nerdy video on how Solar Panels work
