BlueRoad is a multi-media series of works about my life
on the road with my 2 dogs, 1 cat and my Harley I call Blue.
What is BlueRoad?
** Living on public land or in workamping positions.
** Digging deeper into the self.
** Leaving behind the life of want and need to a life a happiness.
** Searching for the "Invisible Woman"
** Learning how to be self sustaining.
Goals of my journey:
** telling stories of the "Invisible
Woman". Stories of women who
have done amazing things but have gone unseen.
** empowering women to live a life without limitations
What I've Learned as a Female Biker
I've learned to respect my body and take up the space
that is rightfully mine.
I've learned about myself, my fears, my dreams.
I've learned societal norms are not always right and
definitely not for me.
I've learned independence and found my freedom.
I've learned of the discrimination of women riders by
men, women and corporations.
I've learned I am not less of a woman because I ride
I feel like a woman because I ride.
Each ride on Blue has three parts:
Part 2:
Meditation. Consisting of
listening, feeling, and seeing.
Part 3:
Singing and sometimes dancing to express the feelings of the day.
Outcome of BlueRoad:
** Multi-Channel Audio Recordings
** Multi-Media Pieces
** Installations
** Public talks about my journeys, empowerment, finding myself and the "Invisible Woman"
** Publications about my journeys, empowerment, finding
myself and the "Invisible Woman"
** Activities based on BlueRoad: the ability to follow my
travels, post cards from the road and skype talks to classrooms and organizations
Hi Jacklyn, I saw your post on Motorcycle Camping and checked out your blog. I noticed on one of your posts you are trying to get more mileage out of your back tire. Take a look at this site: http://darkside.nwff.info/ Many of us run a car tire because we are tired of replacing back tires all the time. I have a Honda VTX ( right at 900 pounds) and swear by it. Slight learning curve ( couple of rides ) but once you do, it is great. All the Best! Ken Franklin
ReplyDeleteCool. Will do some research. Not sure if I want a new riding curve pulling TicTac. Hahaha
Deleteyears back a lot of hd riders used vw tires. cornering will be different.

I would just like to write you to tell you that I am thankful for your YouTube video's, I'm a 26 year old male and have undergone some fairly major lifestyle changes over the course of the last year including medical, family loss, depression and deciding to leave my career in law enforcement for the hopes of a more 'positive' driven lifestyle. I believe that I've already faced some big obstacles to transition towards the lifestyle that I want, and your videos have really inspired me to gather the courage to continue my path of self-discovery and to know that I'm not alone. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteJaclyn,
DeleteDunlop makes a high mileage, dual compound touring tire for your Harley. I've used 3 rear/fronts, and they add about 12/13k to tire life. They cost just a little more, but it comes out in the wash when considering labor.
Also, get yourself a 1 foot piece of pipe with a large enough inside diameter to fit over the largest wrench end. Using a "cheater" bar will enable you to loosen those tight/sticky nuts and bolt:)
Ride safe and go with God.
